Dr. Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Science in Genetics from Texas A&M University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She pursued her medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduating in the top ten percentile of her class and being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Her residency in Psychiatry was completed at University Hospital, Audie Murphy VA Hospital, and Wilford Hall Medical Center, where she gained comprehensive experience in both outpatient and acute inpatient settings.
With a strong foundation in evidence-based medication management for mental health issues, Dr. Mitchell has also focused her training on psychodynamic psychotherapy. She is passionate about lifelong learning and continually expands her knowledge in the fields of happiness science, psychology, religion, anthropology, gender and sexuality, and sociology.
Dr. Mitchell has been dedicated to her private practice in New Braunfels for 15 years, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, trauma recovery, and issues related to sexual, personality, and relational problems. She is a proud ally of the LGBTQ+ community and is open to working with individuals in consensual alternative relationship structures.
Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Mitchell is committed to providing inclusive and accessible care to a diverse range of clients.
INITIAL EVALUATION
An initial evaluation helps us both to better understand the origins of your concerns. By taking a discerning look into the role of genetics, development, medical and family history, relationships, trauma, stressors, and past efforts to manage stressors, we will build a comprehensive plan to address your treatment goals.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Dr. Mitchell uses an evidence-based approach to treating the symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders. We will discuss treatment decisions every step of the way so that you are making well-informed decisions about your care.
PSYCHOTHERAPY
Support, suggestions, understanding, and education about how to manage your symptoms are important components of Dr. Mitchell's care. Dr. Mitchell draws from many modalities in her sessions, including interpersonal, psychodynamic, and depth psychology. She believes in the healing power of connection through empathy, holding space, and finding meaning in adversity.
FEES
Dr. Mitchell is not affiliated with any insurance plans. As a fee-for-service practice, payment is expected at the time of the service.

20 minute follow-up appt- $165-180
50 minute follow-up appt- $195-250

Dr. Mitchell is an adult outpatient psychiatrist without affiliation to psychiatric hospitals or insurance companies. Payment is due in full at the time of service.
Dr. Mitchell focuses on patients who are appropriate for outpatient care including patients experiencing symptoms related to depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar, ADHD, recovery from trauma, sexual concerns, relationship problems, and phase of life transitions. Dr. Mitchell does not treat substance abuse issues.
Dr. Mitchell's services are only available during her office hours, and services are available by appointment only. She does not treat psychiatric emergencies.
